Mangrove Surviving Skills - Kuala Selangor Nature Park

红树林的生存技能 - 瓜拉雪兰莪自然公园           

 My first visit to a mangrove forest... 

Forest ranger gave us some briefing on Mangrove ecosystem, it benefit, and what what is our mission for that day. Then we equiped ourself with the famous yellow Wellington Boots ,turned ourself into "Pua Chu Kang" style.
我第一次到红树林...

护林员给了我们为我们讲解红树林的生态系统和我们将要责行的任务。我们穿上黄色靴子，摇身一变上演“Pua Chu Kang"的经典look。

We had a walk for about 1-1.5 km to go to the deeper side of the forest. It was not easy to walk with the boot, it is so stuffy and hot eventhough we just next to the seaside, why is it so stuffy compare to the other tropical forest? Ranger explained that the mangrove forest playing a protection role to the mainland, it uphold the strong wind, act as a protection wall to prevent strong wind or big waves to hit the nearby villages, the wind was trapped at the front area (seaside) thus it is stuffy as we are at the other side. 

我们须要步行约1-1.5公里到森林的深处。穿着那长靴子，走的不大习惯，我们明明在海滨附近，可是怎么这么闷热？以前在其他的热带森林都是凉爽的啊。护林员解释说，红树林像一个防护墙在保护着大陆，有挡风浪的作用，能防止强风或大浪击中附近的村庄，而我们在树林靠大陆的地段所以特别闷热。

Along the way we saw weird trunk and brances growing from the land, with different shape and size. While we were amazed with the size and shape of the branches, the forest ranger again cut our conversation and told us that were not branches, its roots! Hmm, roots, i thought the roots of trees are usually grow underground. Ranger explained futher, mangrove prop themselves above the water level with stilt roots and can then absorb air through pores in their bark, the root underneath the ground grow very deep underground too and those above are for breathing. Some of the species, their root could grow very big until it look like tree trunk, some could look like tiny branches that extended out from the main root, so the roots structure help to hold it tight and allow it to stand still during tide, strong wind and strong waves, some small root also extended from the underground root and pop up from the ground, those are hollow as its allow the tree to breath. The ranger also shared that, during 2nd world war, some villager hide themselves under water by using those small roots as their breathing tools.
一路上，我们看到一些从土地冒出来的奇行怪状的树杆和树枝，有着不同的形状和大小。当我们正在热烈的讨论着的时候i，护林员再次切断了我们的谈话，并告知那些不时树杆或树枝，而是树根！嗯，根？还以为树根都长在地下。护林员进一步解释，红树林是以支柱根把自己撑在水位上，然后通过树皮的毛孔吸收空气，根在地下长到很深处，并以在地上根呼吸，有些品种的根可以长得非常大，使它看起来像树杆​​，有一些看起来像从树杆延伸出来的小树枝，根的结构有助于握紧地底，并允许红树立在海潮上，能够坚强的迎接强风和大浪，有些根还是从地底的根延伸在地面上，这些根是空心的，也是用来呼吸的。护林员分享道二战时期，有人为了逃避日本兵藏身在水里以红树根的枝当呼吸器。

Another participate shouted "why there are so many long bean around here?" Another facts, it is the seed for the mangrove not long bean. Opps... seem we are really too city boy or city girl, how shame and naive. The seeds are in a shape that look like a long bean, when it mature, it will drop from the tree and interpolated into the mud, and avoid being wash away. The Ranger then show us the leaf of the mangrov and say "in order to survive in low oxygen and salt water, mangrove have an ability to remove the salt from it body through the leaf, you will found some white crystal like subtances on the leaf surface."

突然，其中个义工喊：“为什么有这么多的长豆在这里？” 护林员再一次说教了，原来是红树林的种子不是长豆。哎呀...似乎我们太过城市和科技化了，对我们周围的森林一概不知呢，真是耻辱。 当种子成熟时，它将会从母树掉下，长形使其更有效地插进泥巴里，以便它可以成长而不容易被海水冲走。护林员指着树叶说红树为了能在低氧水和盐风高的环境生存，会把多余的盐份排出。难怪树叶上有些洁白晶莹的物质，原来是盐。

After 30 mintues, we finally reached the deeper side of the forest and fun started!!!

30分钟后，我们终于达到了森林深处，趣活开始了！

Ranger shouted "Ready for the Work?". "YES". There we go, slowly moved out from the normal

walkway, and dip ourself onto the mud. Yaiks, owh.. aAh, so many sounds effect from the group, some using too much strength and get their leg or half body squeeze inside the mud. Few rounds of pulling each other and we finally reached the spot where we can start the mangrove planting. Time to get our hand dirty, digging, interpolating, cover it up, and repeat the step with another sapling unitl all the tree saplings plated.
护林员喊道：“准备干活了吗？” “是的”。我们慢慢从步道小心的往泥巴去。 Yaiks OWH.. AAH，呼叫声此起彼落，有些义工的腿或半身塞在烂泥巴里。几回的合互相拉扯，我们终于到达了开工的地点，可以开始种植红树幼苗。你挖，我插，他盖上....我们一遍又一遍重复着，手都沾上了泥巴，直到所有的树苗都种好。

Then we move to the next spot with some small mangrove trees, the mud here is not as wet as or as
soft as the planting spot. The saplings were planted 1 years ago, the watery level had reduced, much easier to walk. With our muddy face, dirty hand, we pick up the measuring tape, recording sheet and started to measure the trees, the leaves size, the height to collect some data for the scientist to analyse the healthy and population of those mangrove.
过后，我们到下一个地点，有一些小小的红树，这里的泥土没那么潮湿比较易步行因为有红树在，都是1年前种下的树苗。我们满是泥泞的脸，肮脏的手，拿起皮尺，开始记录。测量树木大小，树叶的大小和密度，科学家待会以收集的数据来分析这些红树林的健康和密度。

It was about 3 hours, the wonderful trip had came to an end. Despite of all the physical exercise, fighting with the mud and expose to the heat, no one complain about tired, dirty, stuffy or hot, we enjoy the whole process where we could get close to the mangrove, step on the ground where they grow and touch it, some of us having their natural facial mask or hand mask, walking out from the forest happily with appreciation.
3小时左右完成了任务。尽管耗了体力，与泥巴战斗，和暴露在闷热的环境下，没有人抱怨累，脏，闷或热，我们很享受整个过程，在这里我们可以近距离得接触红树林，踏在它们生长的土地上，触摸它们，一些义工们还蛮喜欢面上和手上的面膜和手膜，愉快地从红树林走出着。

Learned a lot from Mangrove, no matter how unfavourable the condition, it will adjust itself to survive, eventhough with limited oxygen, salty land and dip in the water most of the time it can still grow big and become a forest and a habitat to others living creatures. A tree able to show us it persistance and flexibility, we human also can! Never give up in unfavourable condition, just adjust ourselves, change our mindset, there is always a way to clear thing up and keep us moving forward. Agreed?
在红树的身上学到了很多许多，在不不利的环境条件下，它会调整自己继续成长和正常的生存着，在有限的氧气，和超咸的土地和海水中，仍然长成一大片的森林供其他生物栖息。一棵树能向我们展示了它的持久性和灵活性，我们人类当然也可以哦！永不放弃，在不利的条件下，只要调整自己，改变我们的思维方式，总有方法搞清情况，让我们向前迈进，同意吗？

After this first meaningful visit, a few more trips has been organised toghether with my friend to bring some of our colleagues, our friends and their families for a short volunteer trip on mangrove planting and mangrove data collection. During the subsequent visits, we found a lot of rubbish trap in the forest, then we added one more activity - mangrove cleaning. The first cleaning we had collected more than 10 full bags of rubbish. Its never too late to start caring our nature, let we all work together to create a cleaner and healthier nature ecosystem. 

在这有意义的探访后，我与朋友组织可好几次的半天义工团，带来我们的同事，朋友和他们的家人进行种植红树林和红树林的数据收集的活动。在一次的探访中，我们发现大量垃圾，护林员告知人们丢弃的垃圾时常通过河
流和大海穿越到红树林里，之后我们添加了红树林清洗活动，第一次清里时，还收集到超过10大袋的垃圾呢。关心地球不分先后，让我们大家一起努力，创造一个更清洁，更健康的自然生态系统吧。

My First Volunteer Travel

 义工旅游

Four years has past, this post maybe a little late for the sharing, despite of the time that has gone, when i watched the videos again this morning, the undescribable and warm memories still remained. Eventhough it was delayed for four years, i decided to share this out - my first volunteer travel experience, an experience that open my eyes and led me to follow a different travel style. 四年过去了，这分享也许有点晚，尽管已经过了好几年，当我今早再次观看当时拍下的视频，仍然有种说不出的温暖记忆，即使推迟了四年，我还是决定与大家分享我的第一份义工旅游的体验，一个让我得到与一般旅行不同的感受和它引导了我追随着不一样的旅游概念与文化。

I worked in an international company those day, the company is actively involving in the corporate sustainable responsible activities. During my tenure, there was a  programme related to climate change issue . It was a programme that partnership with four NGOs (Earthwartch, WWF, The Climate Group and STRI) for the research of climate change. The company donated fund to establish climate centre in various locations for research and education purposes, beside of the research work, the company also identified individual worker from worldwide office who are nature lover or has passion to do something for the community / environment to attend a climate champion programme in one of the climate centre.  我曾在一家国际企业上班，公司很积极参社区与环保活动。我任职期间，公司极力的推廣当时很热门的 气候变化活动，与四个非政府组织(Earthwartch，世界自然基金会-WWF，气候集团和STRI)合作推动气候变化的研究与提高社会对这的认知。企业把基金投资在不同的项目，建立了几个气候研究和教育中心，其中的一个项目是从世界各地的分行选出热爱大自然的员工参于研究工作。

When i got to know about this programme, i was attracted by the free holiday at some outskirts site deep in the forest as that could be a good escape from work plus no leave deduction if i sign up for this programme, however i did not get through from the first round of application. In the later stage, the first batch of participants who came back from the climate champion programme started to run some talks to convey the objective of the programme, from there i learned that there was a mission behind it. I felt ashamed on my initial motive for the previous application and started to study the whole programme packs. I submitted my application for the 2nd round of recruitment with a proper write up on the proposal section, and finally i went through the application process and successfully secured a slot to attend the 12 days climate change programme in China Climate Centre - Gutianshan. 当我知道有这个活动时，我冲着能免费到森林旅行而不用扣假的心态提交了申请表格，但是我没能通过第一轮的招募。不久后，第一轮的参与者回来后开始招开座谈会，传达了该计划的宗旨，从那我了解到参于这活动背后的真正意义与使命。我对自己最初的私心觉得愧纠，从来都没为大自然做过什么，我认真的阅读整个活动的企划书，好好的重新填写了一份建议书与申请表格，终于第二轮招聘通过了，成功争取到出席中国古田山气候中心的气候研究活动。

It was during November 2009, i departed from Malaysia to HuangZhou, China. Due to the delayed of my flight the rest of the group has departed early to the climate centre. Upon arrival, i met the Programme Manager and the photographer aka trainer who waited me at the airport, it took us about 6 hours drive to reach the research centre that located at a reserve forest in ZheJiang Province - the place known as Gutianshan. 那是在2009年11月，我从马来西亚出发到中国杭州。由于我的航班延误，队员们已经出发到研究中心了，抵达机场后，我与留下的项目经理和摄影师兼教练会合后坐了6个小时的车来到了位于浙江省的古田山气候研究中心，离城镇很远，是个较偏远的乡区森林保护区。

I made it on time to the dinner and met the others members who were from various locations within the company, there were colleagues from Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam and myself from Malaysia.During the 12 days, we learned fact on environmnet, human behavior and climate change in the classroom and also attended practical field worked with the scientist went deep inside the forest for some data collection activities and also the lab work. Apart from a learning trip, it was also a life exploration and discovery session. It was a precious lesson in my life where i started to appreciate volunteer travel and eco tourism, a way where we travel to explore new places and also at the same time contribute back to the community and the environment. 在那我与其他来自亚州的同事会面，我们的队员有人来自新加坡，台湾，香港，澳大利亚，新西兰，越南和马来西亚。在那12天中，我们在课堂上了解到许多关于环境，人类行为和气候变化的相关知识，跟随环境科学家到森林深处实地学习与帮忙采集数据，也到实验室做一些简单的工作。那个行程除了是一个学习的旅程，也是一个人生的探索与发现，它让我上了一堂宝贵的课程，我开始体会到义工旅游和生态旅游的意义，在旅行探索的同时也对当地的社区和环境做出贡献。


Through that programme i met a group of friends who share the same interest. The whole trip was an undescribable experience, here, i share two videos - the first one is a summary of our trip by the photographer, and the second is a short documentary film that DIY by our team to deliver the information that we learned during the trip, it was also an appreciation token to our Earthwatch coordinator. 通过那一次的活动，我认识了了一班志趣相投的朋友，整个行程，有着种种的欢乐，与难于形容的经验，在这我与大家份享两个视频，第一个是由摄影师总结了我们的行程的点点滴滴，第二个是我们整组人DIY的气候学识短片，把我们所学的信息传达出去，也是我们给Earthwatch的协调员一份感恩的礼物。

Some scientist disagreed that human are the main factor causes the global warming or climate change. My personal view is -I doesn't know which theory is true, but there is one thing that i am sure, human created a lot of rubbish and most of it was discharge irresponsibly, human are the one that logging the forest, some animals' extinction were due to human action. It is not important to fight on which theory is true, the most important thing is - we are damaging and hurting the mother nature. Please take a step back, review our daily living behavior and start to make changes to reduce the damage, take action now and ensure the "green peace" is not just only a slogan.   一些科学家不同意人类是导致全球变暖或气候变化的主要因素。我个人的看法是我不知道谁的道理是对的，但有一件事，我可以肯定，人类创造了大量的垃圾，人类是坎伐森林的原凶，人类的某些活动造成一些动物的灭亡。不管气候变化是不是人为因素已经不重要，重要的是我们正在破坏环境，请停下脚步， 检讨我们的生活习惯，改变不良的习惯，尽量减少对大自然的伤害，从现在开始身体力行的爱护我们的地球吧！别把环保当口号！

Candle Stone at Yehliu Geopark - Rock could shaped into Unique form, so do we!

野柳地质公园的烛台 - 磨练的见证

Yehliu Geopark, a nature tourist spot in Taiwan, it is famous for its sea-erosion landscape,the most well known is the Queen's Head. 台湾野柳地质公园， 一个特别的海侵蚀大自然景观，最著名的是英女皇头像。

One of my Taiwanese friend brought me there, it was the 5th day of our trip, an hour plus journey from Taipei to the park, it was a cloudy and windy day, seem like going to rain any time, my initial excitment has slowly turn to a low energy level due to the weather and the exhausted trip from previous days, wonder what will i see there. After getting off from the bus, there was still a 1.5km walking distance to the geopark. Right after a few minutes walked, a sudden rain fall (Heavy), i started  to curse "it better had something nice there!". We were lucky, a taxi stopped and let us get in, it was still raining when we arrive at the entrance, the ticket counter full of people, since we were already here, we continue the visit after equiped ourself with a basic raincoat.

我的一个台湾朋友带我到那一日游，那天是我们行程的第5天，从台北到地质公园需一个多小时的车程，天很阴，风很大，乌云满天，不乐观的天气加上前几天的疲惫，我起初的兴奋心情逐渐淡化。从巴士下车后，仍然有一条约1.5公里长的步行距离，才走了几分钟，突然下起倾盆大雨，我开始诅咒：“那里最好有值得一去的理由！”。还好有一辆出租车停了下来，让我们上车，当我们到达入口处，天还在下雨，售票柜台挤满了人。即然来了，无论如何都得进出一探它的真面目，套上雨衣，往入口处前进。

The initial park is a long walkway with some trees at the side, i still have no idea on what awaiting us inside. About 10 minutes walked later, we finally spotted the first unique stone, a camel stone. "Hmm, something interesting". We continue moving forward, still nothing so special, we walked about 1.7km and finally reached the Cape where the main highlight! "Wow, this is really something that beyond my expectation, the best keep for the last!"

又是一段漫长的走道，还不知道到底这公园有什么好参观的。走了约10分钟，我们终于发现了第一个独特的石头 - 骆驼石 (有趣), 我们继续向前走，仍然没有什么特殊，我们走了约1.7km，终于到达了地质公园的主要亮点！ “哇，很特别的海角，有很多奇形怪石，都是天然的。真是最好的保留在最后！”

Various sign of natural erosion found here, some of the rocks were given an interesting name -weathering ring, honeycomb rock / weathering, mushroom rock, ginger rock, wave cut platform, ocean erosion pothole, melting erosion panel, joints, bean curd rock, Queen's head, fairy's shoe, marine bird, ice cream rock, elephant rock, peanut rock, pearl rock, camel rock, Japanese Geisha, drumstick, carp rock, parrot rock, dragon head, grolilla, pineapple bun and many more. Among all of the rocks, i personally like the Candle rock.  

在这里找到各种自然侵蚀的迹象，一些岩石还被起了个有趣的名字 - 风化纹，蕈状岩，蜂窝岩风化环，风化窗， 姜石，海蚀崖，海蚀壶穴，溶蚀盘，节理，豆腐岩，女王头，仙女鞋，海鸟，冰淇淋岩，大象岩，花生石，珍珠石，骆驼岩，日本艺妓，炸鸡腿，鲤鱼石，鹦鹉石，龙头，金刚石，菠萝面包，还有更多。在所有这些类型的岩石，我个人特别喜欢烛台。

The candle sharped rock is a cornical rock standing erectly on the ground. It is 0.5 ~ 1 cm in diameter with the topeThe candle shaped rock is a conical rock standing erectly on the ground. It is 0.5~1 cm in diameter with the top being narrower than the bottom. A round shape concretion containing lime is formed on the central top of the rock and being surrounding by circular grooves, just like a candle tray.

The formation process of candle shaped rock can be divided into three phases:

1. The formation of candle light: The candle light refers to the ball-shape concretion contained within the rock layer; it is small in size. As the said concretion is harder than its adjacent sandstone and is more durable for sea erosion, it eventually raises above the ground when its surrounding sandstone being worn away by seawater.
2. The formation of groove: As the seawater flows around the concretions, a circle of groove is formed since the sandstone that surrounds the concretion is being worn away by seawater.
3. The formation of candle tray: The seawater flows along the circle of rock that surrounds outside the concretions, a rock formed in a shape of candle tray is developed as a result of sea erosion occurred chronically.

Local people usually depict the landscape around the candle shaped rock in this way: “Stone clock, stone breast, the jump of carp, the mouse is sucking the cat’s breast (Taiwanese)”. Whereas, the stone clock refers to the candle shaped rock on the left, the shape of which is like a large clock hanging upside down. The stone breasts refer to the two rocks, excluding the one on the right hand side, that are formed in a shape similar to women’s breasts. The jump of carp refers to the scene when the wave is splashing against the carp rock, it is just like a carp jumps out of water. The mouse is sucking the cat’s breast is a phrase used to describe local people used to go the sea to collect sea weeds to make their living, while risking their lives as the surroundings there were quite dangerous.

公园内最奇特的小地景，烛台石略呈圆锥状直立于地面，直径约在0.5~1公尺之间，上细下粗，顶部中央有含石灰质的圆形结核，周围有环状沟槽，如同烛台一般。

烛台石的形成分为三阶段：
露出烛火：烛火其实就是岩层中的一颗球形结核，颗粒并不大。由于结核比周围的砂岩坚硬，较能抵抗海水的侵蚀，因此当海水侵蚀掉砂岩时，球形结核便微微突出于地面。
挖出沟槽：海浪打在结核上，很自然的会围绕着结核四周流动，于是便逐渐侵蚀掉结核周围的砂岩，向下挖出一圈沟槽，圆球状的结核便渐趋成型。
切割出烛台：由于结核外围有一带环圈，十分坚硬，因此海水便依着这个环圈的形状向下切割、侵蚀，渐渐雕出圆锥状的外形，「烛台」便巧妙而生。时间一久，烛台被海水越雕越修长，完成了一座唯妙唯肖的烛台石。

野柳当地有一俚语描述烛台石附近的景观：「石钟、石乳、鲤鱼逆水、老鼠吃猫乳(台语)」，石钟是指最左边的烛台石，状似一口大钟倒置于此；石乳是指若不看最右边的烛台石，另外两颗的形状，如同女性乳房一般；鲤鱼逆水是指当海岸边风浪大时，浪花自鲤鱼石背后溅起，犹如鲤鱼自大海中逆流跃出一般；老鼠吃猫乳则是形容当地多暗礁、海浪强大，每当东北季风来临时，此处紫菜及发菜生长特别旺盛，但岩石相对也特别湿滑，相当危险。早期当地居民因生活困苦，常需冒险到此处采紫菜及发菜以补贴家用，就像老鼠偷吸猫奶充饥一般，换取生命的延续。(这段文摘之 http://www.ylgeopark.org.tw/CN/info/YlIntroduction_cs.aspx)

All these rocks are the proof of honing, they had gone through a long process with lot of strong wind and strong wave to shape into these unique and wonderful look. Same goes to us, from the momement we borned, we had to go through all sort of stages and experiencing different moment (learning, practicing, falling, standed back up, moving forward, success, fail, depress, frustration, set our mind, move again, on and on ... ) and here we go, the current us. Never afraid of problem or issue, it is a challege in our live, face it, go through it, and one day we will become a better person by all these tempering. 

这些天然形成的怪岩石见证了岁月，进过了漫长的磨练被大量强风与海浪塑造成独特而美妙的外型。我们也一样，从我们出生那天，我们得通过各种成长阶段，经历不同的时刻（学习，练习，跌倒，爬起来，向前走，成功，失败，压抑，挫折，重新定位，再次行东不断的 继续着...）成为现在的我们。不畏困难与麻烦，把它当成是一个在我们的生活中的挑战，面对它跨过它，总有一天我们会被磨练成一个比现在更好的人。

Yehliu Geopark, a place that worth to visit in Taiwan, no matter how short your trip, remember to leave a slot of your itinerary for it. 野柳地质公园，一个值得大家去参观的景点，不管您的行程多极密，记得留些时间把它列入您的行程中。

Sunrise at 3000m

Recently, reviewing some old travel photos, the most memorable one is still the trip to my first highest peak in Malaysia - Mount Kinabalu, 4095.2 meters above the sea level, it is one of the highest mountain in Southeast Asia. It was not regarding the conquered of the mountain, but it was the process of climbing that gave me an unforgiveable memory. Thanks to one of my colleague, i had the opportunity to meet this sacred mountain, we departed from Kuala Lumpur excitingly, aimed to explore the mystery of the mountain.

最近翻看几年前的一些旅游照片，最难忘的还是我人生中第一座最高峰~京那巴鲁山,4095.2 米，是东南亚最高的山峰之一，本土人称她为神山。难忘的不是征服了神山，而是在攀登的过程得到的感受。在还没攀登神山之前，我以为影印在一零吉上的那座山就是神山的顶峰，原来非也。同事的一个旅游策画让我得于踏足这座神圣的高山，我们一行人怀着兴奋的心情从吉隆坡出发，只为一探神山的真面目。

Due to my lack of training, it took me a very long hike to reach the resting hut on the first day, so exhausted. I quickly ate my dinner and catch up for a rest immediately to regenerate the energy for the peak mission "tomorrow". At 2am, we started the peak mission, the climate was cold and it was dark outside, my sensitive nose was freezing, so difficult to breath. After about 15 minutes walk, my body started to heat up and get used to the temperature, the higher we go the thinner the air, extra strength require for every single step, and my pace getting slower and slower. A few people by passed me. Can't remember how long it had been, suddeny i realised that those people in front of me were gone, even the Guide, i looked at my back, Oh God! No one behind me as well! Remember that the guide mentioned one of them will be in front and the other one will follow the last person, at first i thought of waiting for those member who are left behind, however it was so cold and i almost freezing if standed still without moving, i had no choice but to continue walking up all by myself.

由于我没做好充足的段练，第一天花了很长的时间才到达山上的休息站，累得不得了。为了第二天的攻顶，需要在短时间内补充体力，赶紧吃了两大碗饭，七点就倒头大睡了。凌晨两点钟，开始了攻顶之旅，外面一遍漆黑，寒冷无比，把我那敏感的鼻子冻得僵硬了，呼吸困难。走了大概15分钟，体温慢慢上升，也渐渐适应了山上的低温了，越走越高，空气开始变薄，有点吃力，脚步也开始慢了，好几个人越过了我，走着走着，被前方的人抛离了，转头看了后方，天呀！没人！别人抛离我，我抛离别人，连导都不知去向。记得向导说过他们一个会照看前面，一个会在照看最后的人，本想等等后方的同伴一起走，可是实在太冷了，无法停留太久，看来我这不快不慢的只有靠自己了，只好硬着头皮慢慢向前走。

Moved forward in the dark and endured the cold breeze alone, the only thing that accompanies me was the guiding robe. The oxygen getting thinner, each step was so struggle, i can't breathed well and my heart beaten very fast, no more energy to continue, no more hope of catching up those in front and those at the back was yet to be here, i felted like wanted to give up. At that moment, I found a big rock as a supporter and lay on it. Here come the unforgivable moment! The sky was full of stars! It was so beautiful! Review back the last time that i enjoying a sky full of stars was during my childhood time where i lived at the outskirt village. When the family income getting better in later stage, we moved to the city area, there the time thatme that the nature was far away and the city light has replaced the star. At my back was the cold stone, on top of me was the blanket of star, i felt that i was one part of the nature, enjoying the bath of the nature energy, my energy level recovered, my brain was cleared, my goal of viewing the sunrise at the peak had reset to "reach the peak and step on the highest point", due to the relieve tension on rushing for the sunrise has gone, i felt more relax, i slowly standed back up and continued my journey. I knew that the mother earth and the energy of the universe was accompanied me along the way.

一个人被刺骨的寒风袭击着，在一遍漆黑中缓慢的向上移动着，伴着我的只有手上的代路绳子。氧气越来越薄，每走一步都非常吃力，呼吸困难，心跳加速，实在没有力气再往上走了，无望能追上前方的同伴，可后面的却迟迟没到，放弃的念头开始浮上脑海中。我找了一个大石躺下来休息一会，难忘的一幕出现了。漆黑的天密密麻麻的布满了星星！太美了！回想我之前最后一次看到满天星的时候应该是在乡下家里还没水电供应的那一段童年时光吧，后来家境好点，搬到城市后，开始远离大自然，城市的灯光代替了星星。那一刻，躺在凉凉的大石上，以满天星为被子，感觉自己回到了童年的时光，于大自然融为一体，享受着它的沐浴，突然身体恢复能量，脑袋一清，把我要到山顶看日出的目标改成到达神山的最高峰，由于赶时间的心情放下了，觉得轻松多了，慢慢站起来继续我的旅程，伟大的大地之母和宇宙的力量陪伴着我。

I kept walking and finally i met some others hiker, some of the hiker by passed me from behind, sometimes i by passed some of them, when i felt tired, i just lay down to enjoy the starry sky, take some rest and continue. Time passed, the dawn started to grow, even though i was not at the peak, it was still a memorable moment that enjoying the dawn above 3000 meters. The sky finally brighten and i reached the 8m, thought the small peak infront was the highest point for Mount Kinabalu, while i am still enjoying that happy moment, i suddenly spotted two familiar figures, two of my team members were few steps in front. I never thought that i able to catch up with some of them, they told me that the other peak farer above is the highest peak. It seems not so far, guess we can reach there about half an hour, so envy to those people at the peak, three of us confidently moving toward it.

The Highest Peak

走着走着，终于看到其他的登山者了，不时被一些后来的登山者超越，有时自己也超越前方的登山者，累了就躺下来看看星星，休息一会再继续。走走停停，停停走走，不知过了多久，曙光出来了，虽然不在山顶，在3千多米的山坡上看第一道曙光也不错。天亮了，到达那影印在一零吉上的山峰前，以为自己到了山顶，很是高兴，突然有两个熟悉的身影在前面，是我的两个队友，没想到我能追上他们，太好了。与他们会合后，被告知远方的另一座山才是山顶。咋看之下，看来不太远，半个钟就能到达吧！看着山顶山小小粒的人很是羡慕，我们三人信心满满的往山顶的方向去。

The rock surrounding getting lesser and leser, the wind getting stronger and stronger, and it was colder and colder, we cannot walk slowly as we will freeze if moving too slow, we had to speed up to reach any nearby rock for shelter as a cover for the strong wind while taking rest and wait for the a weaker wind to run to the next rock for another chance to move up, this had delayed our journey, the highest peak seem to be close and yet it was far. Fighting with the unfriendly cold wind, hiding and chasing within the rocking path, we finally reached the top after one and half hour. The others team members who were ahead of us earlier were waited for us about two hours there, they were almost freezing. They were so exciting when they saw us there, the atmosphere suddenly become warmer with our happy reunion. 

周围的石块少了风变得很大很冷，不能慢慢走会冻僵，只能快步的到上一个最近的石块旁避风喘气，等风小了再跑到下一个石块旁等时机，这拖慢了我们的脚步，眼前的山顶是多么的近也多么的远啊！与无情的寒风在石壁上追追躲躲，慢慢的攀爬了一个多小时终于我们到达了山顶。另外几个走得特别快的队友已在那等了我们两个小时，冷得发抖，看到我们，兴奋得不得了，周围的气氛一下暖和了。

I stood on the ground of 4092.5 meters above the sea, looked at the 8m area where i  thought that i could reach there by half an hour, what a childish thinking. Although I did not achieve my initial goal of enjoying the sunrise at the highest peak , however, the journey that lead me to the peak gave ​​me a more valuable experience.

站在4092.5米的高峰上，看着自己一个多小时前站着的地段，以为只须半个钟就能到达这里的自己实在太羞了。虽然我没达到最初的目标-站在那最高的峰看日出，而只攀上了神山的最高峰，但在达成这简单的小目标的过程中却让我得到了更宝贵的体验。

Sunrise at 4092.5 m 

We used to keep moving forward, and hoping that we reach the destination the soonest possible and again set for another goal and continue moving forward, sometimes when we too focus on the goal and kept chasing and rushing, we tend to neglect the other great thing surrounding us, in returned we exhausted ourselves. We had to learn to adjust the pace while chasing the dream, spend some times to ourselves and communicate to the one dept inside us, let our body, our spirit and our soul move together with us, this will give a different experience when we reach the destination. Great effort, strive and strong determination are the main ingredients of successful, when envy on others people's successful, start asking ourselves how much effort we put in, because those successful is not coming from nowhere, it only achieved after some effort, instead of envy on other people, we should learn to admire, and set our own goal, despite of a big one or a small one, learned to enjoy the difficulties and the happiness throughout the process, each moment can be a small success and great fulfillment. 

我们很多时候只顾着冲驰，不停的向前跑，想赶快到达目的地，再往另一个目标前进，往往忽略了身边美好的人与事物，最后把自己搞得灰头灰脸筋疲力尽。学会在前进时放慢脚步，不时的自我沟通，让身，心，灵也一起前进，这样到达目的地时更能体会不一样的成就感。每个成功的背后都需要努力的付出与奋斗和坚持不移的毅力，在羡慕他人的成就时，先问问自己能付出多大的努力吧，因为那都是经过一翻努力与奋斗才得到的，于其羡慕他人不如学会欣赏与敬佩吧。我们也要为自己的目标前进，无论目标大小只要学会享受那过程中的甜酸苦辣，每一刻就是一个小成就。

Lately there was an argument of the recognition of one of the climber who completed her Mt Everest hike with most of the help of helicopter. Remember that someone asked "why need to put ourselves into all this hassle of climbing, with some money, one can reach the top of the mountain easily"

Well, climb up a mountain is not just to enjoy the moment of stepping the top, it was the journey of the climb that made up that blessing moment when you reach the top.

最近有个人雇用直升机登上了Everest的顶峰，被诤义到底该不该诚认她登上珠峰。

记得有人问过 “为何要那么辛苦，自个儿爬，花点钱，不用那么辛苦也能上到上顶的”。

登山并不是只为了踏足顶端的那一刹那，而是感受自个儿那几千几万步后的那一刻顶端的心情。

Art of Angle - Special Dawn at Perhentian Island

停泊岛一个特别的破晓 - 角度的艺术

2010年在停泊岛学潜水，经过几天的努力后终于考到执照了。在离岛的前一晚，睡了个好觉，隔天四点就醒了。在懒虫的驱使下，我尝试着继续倒头再睡，可是怎也睡不着，唯有到外走走吹吹清晨的海风吧。踏出小屋时大概是五吧，躺在沙滩边的一个吊床上，吹着海风，挺闲的，好一放空的时段。

In 2010, I visited Perhentian Island to take my dive exam.
The last day I had a good sleep after the exam over, that causes me woke up early the next day.. .way too early - 4am. Despite of how much effort I tried to lay on the bed to continue the sleep, I was getting more alert, without a choice, I went for a morning walk around 5am.

大概躺了半个小时，往外海那边看，只看到前方的天空一片灰蓝还看到月亮的踪影，没有惊喜，再往度假屋那边看，突然我被震住了！同一片天不同的角度，天空竟然涂上了蓝的，粉红的和紫的色彩，一个字 - 美！

当下，拿起了相机把天空狂拍了几张，不一会儿彩色那边的曙光越来越亮，终于把灰蓝那一边的天空给照亮了，彩色的天也没了，剩下一片浅蓝的天空，这特别的体验为我的旅程画上了美好的句号。

I walked to the front of the resort, laid on one of the hammock nearby the beach, what a relax moment with the morning breeze. About half and hour, I took a look at the sky toward the sea, there is no surprise, the sky was still greyish blue with the moon. Then I turn to the other side toward the resort area, I was shock, they sky was painted with blue, pink and purple. The same piece of sky, from different angle, it looked different. Without a second thought, I snap some photos of it, just a few moment, the colorful side getting brighter and brigther and the bright covered the greyish part and finally it merge and become one big piece of blue sky.

很多事情在不同的角度会得到不同的观点，别忙着下定论，把好的和坏的观点一一分析，从中学习，可会找到一片蓝天喔！

Most thing happened with reason, never judge too early, try to examine it with different angle and you will find the best of every happening.

Newbie - Introduction to Explore Transcript
